Welcome to The Station Hotel Insch, a friendly hotel and restaurant in Aberdeenshire. With comfortable en-suite accommodation, fresh local food and a convenient location near Insch Station, we are an ideal base for exploring Speyside, Scotland’s whisky trail and the wider north-east of Scotland. 

A Warm Welcome in the Heart of Aberdeenshire 

Chef Alan Halkett and his wife, Eloise, have managed The Station Hotel since September 2025. Together, they have restored the property as a fully operating hotel where local guests and visitors can enjoy relaxed hospitality, contemporary dining and attentive service. 

Alan brings experience from some of Scotland’s finest hotels and a passion for cooking with fresh, local produce. Eloise leads the front-of-house team, drawing on her extensive hotel management experience to make every stay and meal welcoming, comfortable and memorable. 

Comfortable Hotel Rooms in Insch 

Stay in one of our six contemporary en-suite rooms, each furnished and decorated to a high standard. Close to Insch Station and Insch Museum, The Station Hotel offers convenient Aberdeenshire accommodation for short breaks, business stays and whisky trail holidays. 

Explore Speyside, Scotland’s Whisky Trail & Local Castles 

Our hotel in Insch is ideally located for exploring Speyside’s renowned single malt whisky attractions. Plan visits to Benromach, Cardhu, Dallas Dhu, Glen Grant, Glen Moray, Glenfiddich, The Glenlivet, Speyside Cooperage and Strathisla, all of which welcome visitors. 

Known as “Malt Whisky Country”, Speyside is home to more than half of Scotland’s malt whisky distilleries, making The Station Hotel an excellent base for a Scottish whisky trail break. 

Guests can also enjoy easy access to Aberdeen, Inverurie and Huntly, along with at least five nearby castles to discover, including Balmoral, Craigievar and Huntly. 

Restaurant in Insch Serving Fresh Local Food 

Join us for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, dinner or our Sunday set menu. Our Insch restaurant serves contemporary dishes with a focus on fresh local produce. Opening hours are: 

Monday–Saturday 

  • Tea, coffee and sweet treats from 10am 
  • Lunch: 12pm–2pm 
  • Dinner: 5pm–8pm 

Breakfast: Monday–Sunday 

  • 9am–11am 

Sunday Set Menu 

  • Served every Sunday, 12pm–4pm

Excellent stay at Station Hotel Insch

From start to finish, friendly and helpful. Room was superb, beds where lovely. We had dinner and breakfast and cannot fault anything.
