Bide a while in the heart of Scotland's whisky trail
Great food, comfortable rooms
Welcome to The Station Hotel in Insch, Aberdeenshire, in the heart of Scotland’s whisky trail.
From September 11th, 2025, the hotel will be under the management of chef Alan Halkett and his wife, Eloise.
With his passion for contemporary fine dining, use of fresh local produce and with many years of experience in some of Scotland’s top hotels, Alan is looking forward to showcasing his culinary talents as the couple turn the business back into a fully functioning hotel and open the restaurant back up to both local residents and visitors to this beautiful area of Scotland.
Alan’s wife Eloise will be at the helm front of house where she will draw on her years of hotel management experience to ensure guest expectations are met and surpassed whether in the restaurant or in the standard and cleanliness of the accommodation.
The hotel has six contemporary letting rooms, each with en-suite facilities and all furnished and decorated to a high standard and The Station Hotel, which is close to Insch Station and Museum, is the perfect venue to relax and enjoy your stay when exploring all that the area has to offer, not least exploring its world famous whisky trail.
The Station Hotel is ideally situated to explore Speyside’s single malt distilleries of Benromach, Cardhu, Dallas Dhu, Glen Grant, Glen Moray, Glenfiddich, The Glenlivet, Speyside Cooperage and Strathisla, all of which are open to the public to visit.
Speyside is often called 'Malt Whisky Country' as it is home to more than half of Scotland's malt whisky distilleries.
The hotel is also close to Aberdeen, Inverurie and Huntly and has no fewer than five castles nearby to explore including Balmoral, Craigievar and Huntly.
Alan and Eloise look forward to welcoming you to The Station Hotel Insch very soon.
